Jonathan Ringvald

Founder, Breakwater Digital

I've spent the last 11+ years at the intersection of product, technology, and marketing — building websites, leading AI product development, managing six-figure ad budgets, and helping businesses figure out what's actually worth building.

My career has taken me from creative agencies in Boston to ad tech in San Francisco to fintech product leadership in LA. I've worked with companies in insurance, retail, food, fashion, music, advertising, healthcare, and more. The common thread: helping businesses use technology to solve real problems.

I started Breakwater Digital because too many businesses get sold either a Squarespace template dressed up as “custom design” or a six-month enterprise engagement when they need something in between. I bring product thinking to every project — the why matters as much as the what.

I hold a degree in Economics from Brandeis University and I'm based in Redondo Beach, California. When I'm not building digital products, you'll find me surfing, playing tennis, or practicing one of my five languages.

Why “Breakwater”?

A breakwater protects the harbor.

The Redondo Beach breakwater at King Harbor is an icon of the South Bay — a structure that shields the harbor from rough seas so boats can navigate safely. That's what we do for businesses: provide the structure, protection, and clarity to navigate the digital landscape with confidence.
